Wing Spars
Here are the wing spars-They are the main support of the wing. They come somewhat completed. They are gold color for corrosion protection, a process called anodizing.

The first step is to install platenuts for the fuel tanks. There are 120 of them on the spar, and two rivets for each one, so 240 rivets just so the fuel tanks can be attached to the wings.

The rivets are "flush mount" so the spars have to be machine countersunk so the rivet sits flush.
Here is what the spar looked like after countersinking.

Since there is exposed the aluminum as a result from the countersink, i'm using an alodine pen which will protect from corrosion.

Dried alodine. Looks like the rest of the gold color of the spar.

Here the platenuts are now riveted onto the spar.

Here is what a platenut actually is. Its basically a nut, that is in a form of a plate. :-)

Lots of platenuts.
